London Rocks New Designers
We are delighted to introduce the current designers whom we will be stocking both in store and online.
Cara Tonkin
Cara Tonkin has been creating unique, timeless pieces since 2010, when she started her eponymous brand. She trained at Central St Martins and having achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Jewellery Design, Cara was nominated for New Designer of the Year in 2015 and Jewellery Designer of the Year in 2016 at the UK Jewellery Awards. Working and living in Brighton, she has a strong attachment to her hometown , and the city’s artistic culture can be seen in her fluid and sculptural collections. The Vesper collection is currently available in store and online, and you can find other pieces solely via our website.
Vicky Lew
With a strong Eastern design influence, Vicky is an exciting young designer hailing from Kuala Lumpur, currently based in London. Her ‘Plume’ collection showcases Vicky's experimental use of unconventional materials to make the pieces truly memorable. She graduated from Central Saint Martins with a First Class Honours in jewellery design. Vicky's design aesthetic is rooted in the classical Japanese philosophy of ‘wabi sabi,’ that beauty can too be found in imperfection, impermanence and in-completion. This was duly recognised by her industry peers, leading her to be awarded a Silver Award for Fine Jewellery at the Goldsmiths' Craft & Design Council Awards, as well as the award for "Best Design" by Theo Fennell Awards.
Ana Thompson
Colombian born London based jewellery designer Ana Thompson’s, showcases her ‘Sedna’ collection in our shop with a select few pieces available online. This exciting collection draws on the macroscopic-microscopic worlds of nature, translating them into elegant and versatile pieces of fine jewellery. Anna combines traditional craftsmanship with digital manufacturing, she weaves precious metals into delicate lattices creating intricate structures and encapsulating precious stones. Her work explores the intersection of design and science, blending her interest in new technologies and production processes, with her fascination for revealing the hidden beauty and wonders discovered in the unseen worlds of nature.
Lily Kamper
After graduating from the Royal College Art Lily founded her eponymous London based jewellery label with a view to create pieces that reflect her love of unusual material combinations and modern luxury design. With pieces of jewellery hand-turned on a lathe from blocks of resin and Perspex. Lily’s love of colour is shown throughout the collections with each piece of Perspex dyed by hand with each colour mixed individually. In September 2015 Lily was awarded a place on the prestigious British Fashion Council Initiative Rock Vault curated by Stephen Webster MBE and launched at Fortnum & Masons. The fine jewellery collections are exhibited internationally including London & Paris Fashion Weeks and Couture Las Vegas.
Niza Huang
We are excited to be featuring pieces from the collection ‘Crush’ & 'Under Earth' by Niza Huang, a 2008 Sheffield Hallam graduate. Her collections ‘Crush’ and ‘Under Earth’ reflect her inspirations from the constantly unraveling stream of human feelings and passions, the instants that make our lives special and individual. Niza uses abstract claw like shapes throughout the collection, which reference the ephemeral nature of our experience, and our futile desire to reach out and capture it. Niza Huang's signature texture remains constant across the pieces, creating a beautiful gifts for loved ones or yourself.
