Shaun Gordon, not your average tie maker teams up with Karl Karter to create a timeless and custom tie slide to complement Shaun's handmade range of patterned ties.
The highly desirable and dapper tie collection by London based designer, Shaun Gordon, draws inspiration from his grandfather and the timeless, quintessential cuts and materials from vintage tailoring. Having focused his own brand on limited runs, with an emphasis on quality and craft it was only natural that Karl and himself collaborate on a menswear classic; the tie slide.
Popular in the 1960's and 70's tie slides and clips served both a practical and fashionable sartorial accessory. A kin to cuff-links, signet rings and of course ties it gave men the opportunity to give everyday suits a subtle personal twist. Today they serve the same purpose, in both a practical and aesthetic sense.
When looking back into designs and styles of tie slides, clips and pins, many utilised gemstones, engravings and small details that created statement pieces that would one day become heirlooms. Shaun and Karl knew what they wanted to focus on this nostalgic aspect and too create something simple that can be personalised and hold its own for generations to come.
Available from both London Rocks and Shaun Gordon directly, these slides can be made in a range of metal choice, finishes and engravings. Pave set into the end of the slide are three black diamonds, these too can be customised with other gemstones or diamonds, making a great gift and accessory for any occasion.
