We have hand-selected a group of inspirational, contemporary jewellery designers. Many drawing from traditional making techniques, with a modern aesthetic. Others pushing the use of materials normally associated with jewellery making, whilst exploring shape, texture and scale.
After graduating from the Royal College of Art Lily Kamper founded her London based jewellery label creating pieces that reflect her love of unusual material combinations and designs that embody modern luxury.
Each piece of jewellery is hand-turned on a lathe from blocks of resin and Perspex. Lily’s love of colour is shown throughout the collections with each piece of Perspex dyed by hand with each colour mixed individually. Her pieces range from small column pendants, to statement necklaces and sculptural earrings. Each bespoke piece is hand-made in Hatton Garden and is available to try on in our Leather Lane shop.
Karl is a traditionally trained diamond mounter who has been working in Hatton Garden for the past 20 years. Having trained as an apprentice for several years, followed by working at a top Mayfair Jewellers, he launched his own brand in 2005. Now based at The London Rocks Workshop in Hatton Garden, Karl works in the studio alongside other upcoming designers.
Handmade, classic techniques combined with the latest, setting and production technology allow clients to work through the design process with Karl. His signature style takes influence from geometric, Art-Deco forms that create striking and balanced pieces. Traditional sentiment leads his designs, whilst being heavily influenced by Brutalist architecture and Avant-Garde fashion. The amalgamation of fine metals paired with unusual cut gemstones create his trademark statement jewellery.
A native of Kuala Lumpur, Vicky Lew graduated from Central Saint Martins, London in 2014 with a First Class Honours in jewellery design. Vicky's design house is based in London, where she has lived for seven years and now considers home.
Vicky's design aesthetic is rooted in the classical Japanese philosophy of wabi sabi, that beauty can too be found in imperfection, impermanence and incompletion. A rose on the vine and a fallen rose on the ground are equally beautiful. Each piece is crafted with traditional Eastern sensibilities with Western design concepts, delivering strong narratives and intricate inter-plays between organic shapes and geometric forms. Her Plume collection utilises freshwater pearls set within structural handcrafted lines.
Experience with industry giants CARTIER and SWAROVSKI during her time at university have honed Vicky's skills, enabling her to grow and develop as a designer, all while affording her the opportunity to familiarize herself with all aspect of the jewellery industry.
Experimental in nature, Vicky explores unconventional materials in her collections. Past collections have included the use of aluminium, palladium, tin-plate and resin for the pieces, allowing her to express her versatility in a variety of media. This was duly recognised by her industry peers, leading her to be awarded a Silver Award for Fine Jewellery at the Goldsmiths' CRAFT & DESIGN COUNCIL AWARDS, as well as the award for "Best Design" by THEO FENNELL AWARDS.
We are excited to be featuring pieces from her collections ‘Crush’ & 'Under Earth' by Niza Huang, a 2008 Sheffield Hallam graduate. Her collections ‘Crush’ and ‘Under Earth’ reflect her inspirations from the constantly unraveling a stream of human feelings and passions, she believes that those are the instants that make our lives special.
Niza uses abstract claw like shapes throughout, referencing the ephemeral nature of our experience, and our futile desire to reach out and capture it. Niza Huang's signature texture remains constant across the collections, creating beautiful gifts for loved ones or yourself.
Colombian born London based jewellery designer Ana Thompson’s, is showcasing her ‘Sedna’ pearl collection in store with selected pieces available online. This exciting collection draws on the macroscopic-microscopic worlds of nature, translating them into elegant and versatile pieces of fine jewellery.
Anna combines traditional craftsmanship with digital manufacturing, she weaves precious metals into delicate lattices creating intricate structures and encapsulating precious stones. Her work explores the intersection of design and science, blending her interest in new technologies and production processes, with her fascination for revealing the hidden beauty and wonders discovered in the unseen worlds of nature.
Cara Tonkin has been creating unique, timeless pieces since 2010, when she started her eponymous brand. Cara trained at Central St Martins and having achieving a First Class Honours Degree in Jewellery Design, was then nominated for New Designer of the Year in 2015 and Jewellery Designer of the Year in 2016 at the UK Jewellery Awards.
Living and working in her hometown of Brighton, Cara has a strong attachment to the city’s artistic culture and this can be seen in her fluid and sculptural collections, influenced by the art deco movement. The Vesper collection is currently available in store and online, with the Siren collection available only online.

Many factors can influence the condition of jewellery, therefore you should make sure that it is cleaned and stored properly.
Please follow these steps to ensure your beautiful jewellery lasts a lifetime.
If your jewellery gets knocked or scratched please arrange to meet with one of our craftsman to check if a repair is required.
We recommend removing jewellery when you shower or bathe and particularly when on the beach, in the sea and in chlorinated water.
Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams directly onto your jewellery.
Keep away from extreme temperatures, humidity and sunlight, and avoid wearing your jewellery when using bleach.
When storing your jewellery, each piece should be individually placed in a pouch or within a soft lined box to stop them being scratched or tangled. Ideally, store your jewellery in a dark, cool and dry place.
Metal: Silver jewellery will naturally tarnish over time. Using a soft, lint free cloth is an effective way to keep silver and other metals looking shiny. Ideally, store silver pieces in an airtight bag to help reduce tarnishing.
Gemstones: Since many gemstones are quite delicate, hot water, harsh chemicals and cleaners should be avoided at all times. We advise cleaning your precious stones with a clean, soft, damp cloth after wearing. Very porous stones such as turquoise and emeralds should be cleaned using an untreated, dry, soft cloth only.
